Bloodshot Eyes
Redness usually reflects irritation, dryness or a minor infection and settles on its own. Redness with pain, light sensitivity or reduced vision is a different matter and should be seen the same day.

Bloodshot or red eyes occur when the tiny blood vessels on the surface of the eye become enlarged or irritated. It is very common and usually harmless, often settling on its own within a short time.
Occasionally, redness accompanied by pain, discharge or reduced vision can signal something that needs attention. If in doubt, a quick assessment gives peace of mind.
